As I’ve gotten older, and hopefully wiser, it has dawned on me more and more how the source of people’s problems comes from their lack of understanding of who they are. Now, no one can possibly know who they are, not absolutely anyway — then again, if you can’t know something absolutely, then what do you really know? — but people can always further understand who they are.

Money reflects this. When you ask people what they want, some of them will tell you more money. But what for? Money by itself doesn’t do anything. Money is useless unless it is used. But people make money their objective.

This is not to say that money is bad, or that wanting money is bad. But when your objective is money then it signifies, at least to me, that you don’t have a clue what it is you want in life.

The joke of it all is that if you were clear on what it is you wanted, you probably wouldn’t need all that much money to do it. I’m not saying that this is always the case, but there is a good possibility that you don’t need as much money as you believe you do.

Either way, all of this stems from a lack of understanding of who you are, for if you were continuously learning from yourself, it’d become clearer and clearer to you what it is you wanted and would then, in turn, be able to act on it in an effective manner.
